HOW SPARK FUNDER WORKS!
WHAT IS SPARK FUNDER?
Spark Funder is the University of Glasgow’s online fundraising platform which aims to fund projects and spark endless possibilities.
Spark Funder works with the Chancellor’s Fund to ensure all projects promoted boost the aims and strategic values of the University whilst having the biggest impact on Glasgow and global community. Our Chancellor’s Fund Board, made up of staff, donors, alumni and members of the community, will carefully select projects put forward by the Heads of Colleges and University Services to ensure all projects have the widest reach. The University of Glasgow attracts some of the brightest and most innovative students and researchers from around the world, this site aims to ensure they are never restricted by financial needs and can continue to make a global impact.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO CREATE PROJECTS?
Current students, academics, staff and societies at the University of Glasgow are eligible to apply to be funded through the platform.
WHY SHOULD I SUPPORT?
Most people have had a close attachment to a club, society or project during their time at university, college or school. As a result, people are keen to help support similar ventures, to ensure these opportunities are available for others. Often these projects are what really enhance a student's experience but can only be achieved with the support and generosity of people like you.
WHAT IS GIFT AID?
Gift Aid is a tax relief available to UK registered charities, like us. To qualify, gifts must come from a UK taxpayer. The amount of Gift Aid that can be reclaimed on a gift depends on the value of the reward being provided.
HOW CAN I CONTACT PLATFORM ADMINISTRATORS?
If you have any questions about making a gift, setting up a project or a current project on our site please feel free to get in touch at email@example.com.

WHEN WILL MY REWARD BE DELIVERED?
When a project is successful, your reward will be delivered at the approximate delivery date stated on the project page. If you would like more information, you can contact the project owner directly through their profile or project page.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF THE REWARDS HAVENT YET BEEN DELIVERED?
The delivery of rewards is a tough part of the process for project owners, especially where there are large numbers of rewards to send out or they have problems with the organisations producing their rewards. Hopefully, they will communicate any problems to you and we ask for your understanding here. However, if you wish to inquire further, please email email@example.com.
CAN I TRUST THE PROJECT OWNERS?
In terms of a projects ability to deliver, it's up to them to make the case that they can successfully bring their project to life. All projects go through a rigorous application and evaluation process to ensure they have the support, knowledge, passion and experience to achieve their goals. A project will find it very difficult to succeed without enlisting the support of individuals in their network, as well as related organisations, and their institution which is why we carefully select projects who have a good network of people invested in them. In many cases, you will know the project owner, or have heard about the project from a trusted source. Obviously, in these cases, you will have fewer problems of trust. Project owners are encouraged to share links to their personal websites, Facebook groups and Twitter feeds as well as any pages that show work related to the project, or past projects. Still not sure? Ask them a question via their profile or project page. At the end of the day, we leave it to your judgement. If you spot anything you think looks suspicious, there is a button on every project page where you can report suspicious projects.
